A Pair of Detentions in the Aftermath of Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

This incident resulted in the partial shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.

The arrests follow a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later discharged.

Police detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault close to the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were alerted at about 08:10 GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not considered an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
